How to compare two resort quotes fairly

Rooms, meals, transfers and cancellation terms matter as much as the headline amount.

Nainital, Uttarakhand

Start a comparison with the same dates, guest count and room-sharing plan. Include the ages of children, any extra beds and the expected arrival time. Without those details, two prices may be describing different bookings.

Ask for the room category in writing. Confirm whether the quoted rooms are in the same building or area, what bedding is provided and whether the layout works for the group. For older guests, ask about steps and the route from parking to the room.

Break out the meal plan. Check which meals begin and end the stay, whether dining is buffet or another arrangement, and how dietary requests are handled. Ask what happens if a safari or an early departure causes the group to miss a meal.

For a group, compare the shared spaces too. A lawn, a meeting room or a private dining arrangement may be chargeable or subject to a separate booking. Confirm event timings, equipment, power backup and the wet-weather alternative.

Put taxes, transfers, additional beds, activities and event services beside the accommodation cost. Mark anything still awaiting confirmation. A transparent quote should make it easy to see both the committed cost and the optional additions.

Finally, read the payment schedule and change or cancellation terms for each component. Keep the written proposal and receipts together. Tell the planning team which trade-offs you would accept so they can suggest a better fit, not simply a lower price.
