Corbett planning

Your first Corbett trip: start with the right questions

A practical way to connect your safari, resort and travel days without overloading the holiday.

Choose the main purpose before choosing the resort. A wildlife-focused visit needs a permit and the correct entry gate at the centre of the plan. A family holiday may work better with a comfortable resort, manageable travel days and one optional forest outing. A celebration needs the venue, rooming and meals considered together.

Write down the non-negotiables for your group: dates, room count, meal preferences, mobility needs and a budget range. Share children’s ages instead of only a total headcount. Ask a resort what room layout and bedding it can actually confirm for that group.

Safari planning begins with the official Corbett Tiger Reserve portal. Check the zone and the visitor requirements for the date you want. A transfer, a vehicle, a guide and a permit may be separate parts of your arrangement. Ask for each to be named in your quote rather than assuming that “safari included” covers everything.

Next, work out how you will arrive and leave. Avoid putting a long road journey, resort check-in and a fixed-time safari too close together. An extra rest window can make a short trip more comfortable than another attraction squeezed into the schedule.

Compare the total proposal. Look for the room category, meal plan, taxes, transfers, optional experiences and cancellation terms. If two quotes differ, compare those inclusions first. The least expensive headline figure may cover a different stay.

Before paying, request a written confirmation of the provider, dates and terms. Save permits and identification instructions where the group can access them. Keep a weather-dependent alternative in mind and enjoy the landscape as part of the experience; wildlife encounters cannot be promised.
